Where to Begin?
This is always a good question! But unfortunately, there are a million right answers!
Thankfully, you have the luxury of time...the birthday is still 3-4 months away. Plenty of time to prepare an amazing party!
Start with a budget.
How much can you realistically spend on this event? You may want to make this birthday party into an extravagant gala, but if you are on a tight budget, you will have to plan very carefully. Know your budget restraints before you begin planning.
Ask the guest of honor.
Maybe your son loves cars and trucks, or dinosaurs. Maybe your daughter would love to celebrate with her favorite princess. Maybe your teen just wants a glamour party, or a spa party. Let your guest of honor help choose the theme. This will narrow down the decorations and activity choices.
Who will you invite?
Now that you have a theme its time to consider who will be invited. All the classmates? Just a few close friends? The sky is the limit...but, you do have to set the limits. The number of guests you plan to invite will influence the planning and could very quickly derail your budget.
Where do you find ideas?
You could begin by searching the internet...There are TONS of ideas on pinterest, youtube, and all over the net...but you want something unique. Something specific to your guest of honor.
It's time to decide exactly what this party entails. Will you personally plan and arrange all the games and activities yourself? Will you make all the food? How about the decorations? Will it all be DIY...or purchased? Or...perhaps you would rather hire an entertainer or party planner to manage all this for you. If you plan to hire an entertainer or party planner, do this as early as possible. The more time you allow to prepare for the party, the higher the quality can be!
Hire a party planner or entertainer.
If you have the budget, and you would prefer to enjoy the celebration with your guest of honor, I would strongly suggest looking around to hire someone to help. Visit www.gisalad.com or www.gigmasters.com or do a search of google for local children's entertainment companies.
Not only will you be gaining their experience planning parties...but you will save on stress, headaches, and challenges of trying to figure it all out yourself. Turn to someone who does this for a living!
Regardless if you work with My Dream Parties or not, I hope you find ideas on this page that will help moms, or grandmas, or gala planner chairs around the world realize that they truly can plan a magical celebration without pulling out their hair.
